JOB SUMMARY

Determine the demand for products and services offered by J&D Manufacturing and its competitors and identify potential customers within the retail/industrial markets.  Maintain relationships and support all terms of the sale for J&D house accounts.  Plan, direct and coordinate the day-to-day operations, work activities and resources necessary to maintain and enhance the Customer Service team.  Interact with internal and external customers to provide quotes, information in response to inquiries about technical support, products and services and to address and resolve complaints.  Provide information, support, and training to ensure a successful Customer Service experience for each customer, internal and external. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  1. Work with other supervisors/management to identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors for retail, industrial, commercial and house accounts.
  2. Recommend marketing activities and policies to promote products and services.
  3. Participate in developing new products, modifying existing products and suggesting terminations of ineffective products in the retail and industrial markets.
  4. Direct and coordinate the hiring, training and performance evaluations of employees engaged in customer service and technical customer service.
  5. Prepare estimates and bids that meet specific customer needs.
  6. Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.
  7. Make recommendations to customers regarding product displays, promotional programs, and advertising.
  8. Confer with other supervisors/managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and to resolve problems.
  9. Direct and follow all safety and housekeeping procedures, which includes ensuring all employees follow these procedures.
  10. Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
  11. Implement company and departmental policies, procedures and service standards in conjunction with management.
  12. Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems.
  13. Train and instruct employees in job duties and company policies or arrange for training to be provided.
  14. Research, process, and approve or deny warranty claims/returns.
  15. Work with necessary departments to investigate and resolve customer complaints and ensure that appropriate changes were made to resolve customers' problems and prevent future problems.
  16. Confer with customers by telephone, in person or with other mediums in order to provide information about products and services, to take orders and to obtain details of complaints.
  17. Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
  18. Quote published prices, warranties, and approved delivery dates.
  19. Attend and participate in trade shows as required.
  20. Contact regular and prospective customers to explain products, explain product features, and solicit orders.
  21. Contact customers regarding order status and possible delays or substitutions.
  22. Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.
  23. Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses and order status.
  24. Collect and analyze data on customer demographics, preferences, needs, and buying habits to identify potential markets and factors affecting J&D and product demand in the marketplace.
  25. Measure and assess customer satisfaction.
  26. Review work of subordinates to ensure accuracy and content appropriateness.
  27. Assist with Sales budget and other sales’ projects as assigned.  
  28. Maintain company pricing information.
  29. Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience in a manufacturing environment and the ventilation and/or the agricultural industry is a plus.

Production hours are Monday – Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

Job Summary

Perform duties required to meet production demands. Includes assembling and packaging of ventilation systems and other J&D products.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Install wire cord sets onto motors.
  • Assemble components of ventilation systems and other J&D products.
  • Verify work orders with blueprints, materials, and production schedule.
  • Gather materials for packaging. Package and prepare product for shipment.
  • Assist shipping and receiving department in the efficient removal of materials from containers.
  • Communicate with and assist other workers in work area.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Perform necessary quality checks as required.
  • Load cardboard materials into crushing machine.
  • Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
  • Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
  • Generate team spirit, create and maintain a personal attitude and work environment that fosters the highest level of employee cooperation, morale and satisfaction.

Experience / Qualifications: Experience in manufacturing is preferred. Ability to stand up for 10 hours and lift up to 70 lbs. periodically. SUMMARY Great opportunity for a motivated individual to join the J&D Management Team as a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all plant activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of overall operations to maximize profits. The successful candidate will delegate authority to key supervisors to successfully ensure quality performance is obtained within the plant to meet business objectives, policies, and goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Direct and coordinate production, processing, and distribution activities of J&D Manufacturing according to policies, principles and procedures established by the President and Vice President.
  • Develop budgets and approve expenditures for supplies, materials, and personnel, ensuring that materials, labor and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Review operations and confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Control the operations of Material Requirement Planning (MRP), along with the software and procedures.
  • Work with Human Resources to hire, train, and evaluate employees, reward employees, resolve personnel issues and generate and deliver corrective action notices for disciplinary and discharge documentation.
  • Direct and follow all safety and housekeeping procedures, which includes; ensure all closing checks are done at the end of each day (locking all doors, making sure all employees have left the building, verifying all equipment is properly shut down and lights are off) and ensuring all subordinates follow these procedures.
  • Initiate and coordinate inventory and cost control programs.
  • Prepare technical reports for use by management for long- and short-term planning and production performance.
  • Prepare and submit; weekly project lists and work lists for subordinates and Manager, as well as monthly reports of Plant operations to the Vice President.
  • Set and monitor product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Work with Engineering and other departments to evaluate returned product in order to determine why the product failed, who produced it and how to avoid the issue in the future.

  • Coordinate and recommend procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines/equipment.
  • Conduct effective communications between management, including follow-up and status reports on existing projects and duties before their scheduled due dates.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Review work orders and provide assistance and coordination with department leads to set up production lines.
  • Operate forklift safely and follow requirements.
  • Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage, production, powder coating, shipping and receiving, and outside areas to proper locations.
  • Ensure that job materials and packaging materials are available at work stations as required.
  • Communicate frequently with department leads to provide for the constant flow of materials.
  • Assist shipping and receiving department in the efficient removal of materials from containers and as otherwise needed.
  • Restock, clean, and re-organize production floor as needed.
  • Check that product staged and waiting to be used is placed in safe areas.
  • Keep all aisle ways and fire doors free of materials.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices within the facility, including effective use of all warehouse space and in external staging areas.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Shift:

4 - 10 hour days, 6:00am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday, with the possibility of overtime on Friday.

Qualifications & Additional Information:

  • One to two years related experience is required.
  • Forklift experience is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Must be able to work overtime or extended hours on limited notice.
  • Candidates must be able to accurately read a tape measure, walk and stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time and lift up to 70+ pounds on a frequent basis.

Territory Managers are responsible for maintaining relationships with prospective and current customers to promote and sell J&D Manufacturing Products.  Territory Managers support customers with all terms of a sale during the sale and after.  Further, our Territory Managers work with the J&D Manufacturing team on product research and development.

  9. Arrange and direct delivery and installation of products and equipment.
  10. Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.
  11. Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.
  12. Make recommendations to customers regarding product displays, promotional programs, and advertising.
  13. Train customers' employees to operate and maintain new equipment.
  14. Perform any other duties as assigned.

  16. Provide design recommendations, configure systems quotes, and provide requirement information to dealers utilizing plans, drawings, and site visit criteria.
